Having not allowed a goal in over 195 consecutive minutes, the USC Upstate men’s soccer team looks for its third straight victory Saturday at 7 p.m. when the Spartans welcome crosstown rival Wofford to County University Soccer Stadium.

The USC Upstate Alumni Association will also host a men’s soccer reunion beginning at 5 p.m. at the USC Upstate Readiness Center Foyer. Complimentary food and drinks will be offered before and during the game.

The Spartans posted their second straight shutout Tuesday in a 3-0 victory over VMI behind a pair of goals from freshman Gordon Wild. Michelangelo Dovidio registered his second goal of the season late in the second half to account for the third goal.

Wild enters the weekend leading the Atlantic Sun with six goals and is the reigning A-Sun Player of the Week. Wild has been the offensive catalyst for a Spartan team that leads the A-Sun in points (23), goals (10) and goals per game (3.33).

Wofford (3-0-1) ran its unbeaten streak to four on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over in-state foe Presbyterian. The Terriers have scored three goals in three of four games and are outscoring their opponents 11-3 thus far this season.

Matthew Aurednik paces the Terriers with seven points on three goals and one assist. Jonathan Dean leads the team with three assists.
