The George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics at the University of South Carolina Upstate welcomes Tim Quinlan to its Wells Fargo Speaker Series on Friday, October 9.
Quinlan is an economist for Wells Fargo and provides analysis and commentary on U.S. consumer and business spending as well as macroeconomic developments in Canada, Australia and other foreign economies. He will speak from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. in the BMW Classroom at The George, 160 E. Saint John St. in downtown Spartanburg. Tickets are $10 (includes a boxed lunch) and must be purchased in advance at www.uscupstate.edu/wellsfargo. Faculty, staff and retiree tickets are $5, advance registration is required. USC Upstate students and Johnson College faculty and staff will be admitted free, but registration is required.
Prior to joining the economics group in 2007, Quinlan held positions within Wachovia as a trust account portfolio manager and as an investment strategist. Prior to joining Wachovia in 2002, he spent several years working for Putnam Investments in Boston.
His commentary is often cited in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today and Financial Times. He is also a frequent guest the National Public Radio show, Marketplace.
Quinlan earned his bachelor’s degree in American studies with a concentration in the classics from Siena College in upstate New York.
