Spartanburg Branch of Student Painters Launched by USC Upstate Student

A local college student hopes to help his classmates earn some money during the summer.

Chris Goldman, 24, a junior at the University of South Carolina Upstate, has launched the Spartanburg branch of Student Painters, a program affiliated with Young Entrepreneurs Across America. The program is designed to teach students valuable lessons about entrepreneurship before they graduate.

Goldman said he inherited the local franchise from his mentor Chase Lawson, a Clemson University graduate who ran it for two years while he was in school.
