Macon, Ga. – USC Upstate sophomore Jordan Ford was named the Atlantic Sun Co-Player of the Week, conference officials announced this afternoon. Ford wins the weekly honor for the first time in his Upstate career.
In two games played this weekend, the Greenville, S.C. native drove in eight runs on three hits in seven at-bats. On Saturday with the Spartans trailing 4-3 to Dayton, Ford hit a two-run triple with two outs in the eighth inning in a 5-4 Upstate victory. Ford also drove in three runs on a double in the second inning. During Sunday’s game against Stony Brook, Ford hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the seventh inning as Upstate tallied an 8-6 win. He finished the weekend with a double, triple and home run while batting .428.
Upstate returns to Harley Park tomorrow afternoon against Georgia State. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
