The USC Upstate women’s basketball team is teaming up with The Kay Yow Cancer Fund to hold its annual Play4Kay game on Saturday, Feb. 13 as the Spartans take on Stetson at 4:30 p.m. from the Hodge Center.
Upstate, along with the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, will be teaming up for a raffle as well as contests during and after the game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game in support of breast cancer awareness.
All cancer survivors will be admitted to the women’s game free of charge and will be honored during the game.
The 2016 Play 4Kay initiative is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $5.1 million to support women’s cancer research.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.
