USC Upstate senior center Brittany Starling has been named to the College Sports Madness All-Mid Major Fourth Team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Starling, an Atlantic Sun First Team All-Conference and All-Academic Team selection, led Upstate with 15.4 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per game. She was the league-leader in rebounds and double-doubles and ranked in the top-ten nationally in rebounds, rebounds per game and double-doubles. Earlier this season Starling became the first player in Upstate history and 10th player in league history to score 1,000 points and pull down 1,000 rebounds. Starling is Upstate’s all-time leader in rebounds and is fourth in scoring.
This is Starling’s first All-Mid Major Team selection but not her first recognition by College Sports Madness this season as she was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week on Nov. 23, 2015 and Feb. 8.
Joining Starling on the Fourth Team are Haley Hodgins (Eastern Washington), Chatori Major (UNC Asheville), Alexis Mason (Abiline Christian) and Norianna Haynes (Alcorn State).
