Macon, Ga. – USC Upstate junior right-handed pitcher Tyler Jackson has been named the A-Sun Co-Pitcher of the Week, conference officials announced earlier this afternoon. The weekly award is the first of Jackson’s career.
In his last start at The Citadel on March 8, Jackson struck out a career-high 13 batters while limiting the Bulldogs to five hits in a 7-1 complete game victory. Jackson improved his career-best strikeout mark by one after striking out 12 against Furman on March 1.
Currently, Jackson is 2-1 with a 2.71 ERA, and leads the A-Sun with 34 strikeouts and 13.11 strikeouts per game.
Upstate will play No. 12 South Carolina at Fluor Field tomorrow at 7 p.m.
