The University of South Carolina Upstate will welcome hundreds of children to campus to participate in a variety of summer camps this year.

Don’t let the kids stay inside all summer, we’ve got a list of options for elementary, middle and high school students.

Is your student a brainiac? We have a few options that will keep them interested in mathematics, science and writing, while enjoying fun days with challenging hands-on learning opportunities.

USC Upstate’s athletics and fitness camps will help children get in shape, maintain their shape, and hone their skills specific to a particular sport. If your child wants to have fun learning games and swimming, Sparty’s Kids Camps offers all of that and more.

Other children may enjoy being introduced to animals in their habitats, or learning about why water is one of our most valuable resources. The Watershed Discovery Center at USC Upstate is hosting two camps that help children explore nature and their environment. Crafts, games, experiments and challenges are all part of fun-packed days!

Maybe your camper has a flair for drama and would enjoy being part of a theatrical production either on stage or behind the scenes. The Summer Youth Drama Camp includes theatre games, warm ups, improvisation, scene work, individual monologue work, mask making, theatrical makeup, lighting and scene painting, and the performance of two plays.

Camps can fill quickly, so visit the summer camp web site, www.uscupstate.edu/summercamps for all the details, brochures, registration forms and more.
