USC Upstate Welcomes South Carolina Speech and Theatre Association’s 2016 High School Festival to Campus April 16

Students from 15 high schools in South Carolina will compete in various awards categories at the South Carolina Speech and Theatre Association (SCSTA) 2016 High School Festival to be held at the University of South Carolina Upstate on April 16.

The competition consists of 12 events, such as audition monologue, duet acting, design, impromptu speaking, oral dramatic monologues, storytelling and television broadcasting.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the opening rounds of competition beginning at 10:30 a.m.

As the host school, USC Upstate has 30 faculty members and 20 students who have volunteered to assist with the event this weekend.
