Macon, Ga. – USC Upstate junior Bryan Hathaway has been named the final Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week for the 2016 season, conference officials announced this afternoon. Hathaway earns the weekly award for the first time in his Upstate career.
The Orlando, Fla. native played a key part in Upstate’s series victory over Jacksonville as he earned a win and a save. Hathaway was the winning pitcher in Thursday’s 4-3, 10 inning victory as he allowed one hit with four strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work. In the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, Hathaway pitched the final two innings to preserve a 3-2 win. Hathaway threw five total innings during the series and allowed three baserunners with four strikeouts.
Hathaway concludes the season with a 3-1 record and team-best 1.67 ERA.
