Rising seniors participating in the Academic Outreach Camp this summer are heading in to week two of activities.
From exploring manufacturing production processes and healthcare quality outcomes, to driving BMW’s high-performance final product, students are using both science and math principles during a two-week camp sponsored by the University of South Carolina Upstate, BMW Manufacturing and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.
This week the camp will tour BMW Manufacturing and visit the BMW Performance Center track in Greer. Campers will put their driving skills to the test as they each take a turn at the wheel, experiencing the acceleration, braking and turning capabilities of the BMWs under a variety of road conditions.
Last week students witnessed a simulated trauma response on the USC Upstate campus with first responders from Spartanburg EMS and Regional One helicopter’s flight crew.
