Title IX Training Session Set for Tuesday, Aug. 30

August 25, 2016 at 11:30 am

Make plans to attend the “Introduction to Title IX” featuring Melissa Nichols, Title IX coordinator at Wofford College and Furman University as she presents “Professor, Can We Talk?’: What to Do When A Title IX Issue Is Brought to Your Door” at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 in Tukey Theatre.

Title IX is a landmark federal civil rights legislation that prohibits sex discrimination in education. Title IX is not just concerned with gender equity in sports, but it is also a prohibition against sex-based discrimination in education. It addresses sexual harassment, gender-based discrimination, and sexual violence. Please join us for this informative session. All new faculty and staff are strongly urged to attend along with others who may not have had the opportunity to attend a Title IX session in the last two years

For additional information, please contact Dr. Warren J. Carson, Title IX coordinator, wcarson@uscupstate.edu or Lisa Caggiano, training, organizational and staff development, lcaggiano@uscupstate.edu.
