USC Upstate head baseball coach Matt Fincher has announced today the addition of Brandon Jossey to the baseball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

“We are happy to have Brandon join our staff,” Fincher said. “He has a solid background and we are excited to have him working with the team. He will be a tremendous help moving forward.”

Jossey arrives in Spartanburg after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Seton Hill (Pa.). While at Seton Hill, Jossey was the video director, hitting and outfield coach and recruited California, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Jossey played for the Griffins during his junior and senior seasons after transferring from Ohlone CC and compiled seven home runs, 41 RBI and 17 stolen bases with a .274 batting average while starting 76 games as an outfielder. Jossey was part of the 2014 Seton Hill team that advanced to the NCAA Division II College World Series.

Upstate began fall practice on Monday and will open the 2017 season on February 17.
