The USC Upstate men’s tennis team closed out the final day of the USC Upstate Fall Classic on Sunday by winning three draw championships with two coming in singles action and one in doubles play.
Felix Ewers and Ankush Arora both walked away with their respective singles draw championships, while Arora and Fernando Bernardes earned title accolades in doubles competition.
Arora and Bernardes began the day by winning the Green Doubles Consolation bracket over Chase Burton and Vince Salas of Liberty. The duo cruised in the championship match by winning 8-2.
Arora followed that performance by winning his championship round matchup in the Green Singles Consolation draw. The sophomore defeated Presbyterian College’s Jaime Castillo Lopez in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
Ewers wrapped up the final day’s action by winning his championship match in the Black Singles draw against Jan Porteset of Armstrong Atlantic. Ewers recorded a straight set victory over Porteset 6-2, 6-2.
The Spartans return to action Sept. 23-25 at the Elon Invitational in Elon, N.C.
