The USC Upstate volleyball team hits the road for the first time in ASUN play this weekend as the Spartans are set to travel to the state of Florida for two matches against the Stetson Hatters and Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.
Upstate is scheduled to begin its weekend on Friday at 7 p.m. against Stetson followed by another 7 p.m. contest Saturday evening at Florida Gulf Coast.
The Spartans closed out non-conference play on Tuesday with their fifth five-set victory of the season following a 3-2 win over Presbyterian College. Madison Haake compiled her tenth straight double-double, and 14th of the season, after pacing Upstate with 52 assists and 11 digs. Brianna Tellschow led the Spartans offensively with 12 kills and Kaleigh Kelley recorded a team-high 22 digs.
Stetson enters the weekend with a 3-13 overall record and is 0-1 in conference play. Florida Gulf Coast currently sits at 14-2 on the season and 1-0 in the league. Upstate leads the all-time series over the Hatters 8-7 but trail 14-0 against the Eagles.
