The process of transitioning from military life to civilian life can be quite a challenge for veterans.
In an effort to help veterans who are returning to school to continue their education, the University of South Carolina Upstate is offering Green Zone Training for all interested faculty, staff and students at 10 a.m and 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 20 in Rampey and 2 p.m. in HEC 2037 and UCG 125.
The Green Zone is recognized as a safe space for student veterans and active service members to speak openly. Each session will last about an hour and 45 minutes and will provide participants with:
- An understanding of the military experience and emotional cycle of deployment
- An understanding of the potential issues facing undergraduate student veterans as they transition from the military to our campus.
- An awareness of the resources available to undergraduate student veterans on and off our campus.
Participants will receive a Green Zone sticker and a certificate of completion, signifying to veterans that they are in a military-friendly environment.
