Heavy Metal Ensemble Ready to Take Stage at Ground Zero

The USC Upstate Heavy Metal Ensemble will showcase the work they’ve done with a concert at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Ground Zero in Spartanburg.

Today’s Herald-Journal features a story about the heavy metal ensemble as well as a column about the The Birth of Heavy Metal class currently being taught at USC Upstate.

For its performance at Ground Zero, the USC Upstate Heavy Metal Ensemble will play material by such renowned bands as Slipknot, Metallica, Judas Priest, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, Megadeth and more.

The USC Upstate Heavy Metal Ensemble members are Sabelyn Thorpe (lead vocals), Jeremy Fender (drums), Korey Hawkins (guitar/vocals), Alex Middleton (violin/vocals), Mason Painter (bass), Craig Ravan (guitar) and Michael Spisak (vocals).
