The USC Upstate men’s golf team will hit the road for its final tournament prior to the ASUN Men’s Golf Championships when it battles for the team championship at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate April 10-11 hosted by Lipscomb at the par 71, 6925-yard Richland Country Club.
Upstate is one of 14 teams competing in the two-day tournament along with Lipscomb, Abilene Christian, Belmont, Bradley, Chattanooga, George Washington, Marshall, Mercer, Ole Miss, Omaha, Samford, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
The Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate is a 54-hole tournament played over the course of two days. Monday will feature 36 holes of competition and Tuesday will feature the final 18 holes.
The Spartans are sending out a five-player lineup this week consisting of Jordan Warnock, Taylor White, Matt Carter, Sun Paripunna and Tom Schofield.
Upstate wrapped up play at the Wofford Invitational on April 4 finishing in a tie for ninth place with a combined score of 582 after shooting a season-low round of back-to-back 291’s. Warnock led the Spartans individually with a career-best performance of tied for sixth place following rounds of 68, a career-low, and 72 to finish at 4-under 140. Schofield and Sean Stanistreet also turned in career-low rounds of 71 and 72, respectively.
White led all players at the Wofford Invitational in par 4 scoring at 3-under par with a 3.85 stroke average.
