 “African Muslims Enslaved in the Americas” by Dr. Sylviane Diouf

  • Please join us for an extraordinary evening with award-winning historian Dr. Sylviane Diouf as she brings to life the powerful and little-known experience of hundreds of thousands of African Muslims – enslaved and brought to the Americas over centuries – and the lives they made in the New World. This event is free and open to the public.

  • Class One: 4– 5:30 p.m.; Class Two: 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the Sansbury Campus Life Center Ballroom
  • Description: Join the Office of Student Life – Multicultural Programs for a canvas painting class featuring art inspired by Dr. King. Learn more about the artist, their work, and King’s contribution to the Civil Rights Movement. At the end of the class, you will have a completed painted canvas to take to home with you. No skill is required! This event is free to all USC Upstate students. An $18 entry fee is required for faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the community.
