USC Upstate Will Award 525 Degrees At December Graduation

The University of South Carolina Upstate will award 525 undergraduate and graduate degrees at its December Graduation on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium at 385 N. Church St., Spartanburg, S.C., 29303. Dr. Brendan Kelly, chancellor of USC Upstate, will offer comments and words of encouragement for the university’s fall Class of 2019 at two separate ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Among the graduates are 10 active duty or military veterans and 14 dependents of veterans.

“The continued success and growth of USC Upstate is vital to not only our community but the entire state of South Carolina,” Kelly said. “These graduates are beneficiaries of a rigorous education. They are well-prepared to take advantage of the opportunities to come, and I have no doubt they will play an important role in building the vitality of our state and region.”

Students from the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics, School of Education, Human Performance, and Health and Mary Black School of Nursing will receive their degrees at the morning ceremony.

The afternoon ceremony will honor graduates of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, College of Science and Technology and University College, USC Upstate’s Interdisciplinary Studies program.

Auditorium doors will open 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to each ceremony. Processionals will begin 20 minutes before each ceremony. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic and allow plenty of time for parking.
