Krish Patel ’08 recently spoke with WYFF about how he started Wireless Communications, a Verizon Wireless retail outlet company, and how it has enjoyed tremendous growth.

More than 30 students who graduated this May were accepted into graduate programs across the country. The university celebrated their accomplishments recently at the Graduate School Sendoff Luncheon.

He is the author of “The Alchemists: Three Central Bankers and a World on Fire” a book about the efforts of the world’s central banks to combat the financial crisis and its aftermath.

USC Upstate will hold Commencement as planned on the quadrangle behind the John C. Stockwell Administration Building this evening. The processional will begin at 6:45 p.m. For those not able to attend the ceremony, a live feed will be available on www.uscupstate.edu.

The Chancellor’s Office and Human Resources will host our Annual May Day Picnic and will recognize our retirees as well as our state service award recipients who have reached a 10, 20, 30, or 40-year milestone. We will also announce our Classified Employee of the Year and select the winners of our United Way of the Piedmont Campaign contest.

John Bauknight and Henry Depew will speak April 11 at 3:30 p.m. about their experiences in the micro-brewery industry, and the challenges they faced as entrepreneurs building a business.
