Robert Easler Elected South Carolina Landscape and Turfgrass Association President

University of South Carolina Upstate Superintendent of Grounds, Robert Easler, was recently elected the 2010 president of the South Carolina Landscape and Turfgrass Association in Columbia, S.C. this past January.

Easler has served on the SCLTA board of directors for four years.  In this capacity, he has worked with the board of directors to promote the organization’s annual conference and trade show, fall field day, and quarterly newsletter.  The SCLTA currently has 800 members.

Easler is a 1980 graduate of Spartanburg Technical College with an associate degree in agriculture.  He has been the superintendent of grounds at the University of South Carolina  Upstate for 20 years and is instrumental in the growth of the campus landscape.  Easler currently manages the Main Campus turf and ornamental crew of seven full time staff and four part time students.
