Staff Council Sets Holiday Extravaganza for Dec. 1

November 11, 2010 at 5:22 pm

There was an unusual scene in the library Wednesday afternoon when Ryan Boggs, Staff Council Chair, went to reclaim the trophies that will be passed on to this year’s winners of the Staff Council Holiday Extravaganza Basket Competition. Last year, the library staff won two of these prestigious honors and Clem Geter was not ready to part with the trophies. Eventually, Clem let the trophies go but vowed that they would soon be back in place in her office.  The basket competition was Gwyn Spearman’s idea for a new addition to the festivities last year at the holiday gathering and Staff Council hopes it will continue to grow into a tradition! Not only will each member of the faculty/staff get a chance to win one of these baskets at the annual holiday party, but there will also be a contest to vote on the baskets in the following categories:  Best Decorated, Most Unique, People’s Choice, and Most Spartan Spirited!

Staff council invites each department to create a basket for the annual holiday gathering. Individuals are also welcome to create and submit a basket.  Questions should be directed to Susannah Waldrop

Mark your calendars and come out for the fun on Wednesday, December 1 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the CLC Ballroom.
