Spartanburg, S.C.
– The University of South Carolina Upstate will hold its annual Arbor Day celebration on Friday, December 3, which includes tree dedications, a presentation for garden enthusiasts, and a luncheon.

This year’s featured speaker is Ken Druse, a nationally-known garden expert, award- winning author, newspaper columnist, radio host and public speaker. His published books include The Natural Garden, The Natural Shade Garden, The Natural Habitat Garden, The Collector’s Garden, and Making More Plants: The Science, Art, and Joy of Propagation. This last work is a bestseller and winner of “Best Book of the Year” from The American Horticultural Society; and “Award of the Year,” the highest honor, from the Garden Writers Association of America, of which he is also a fellow.
