USC Upstate To Host College Goal South Carolina

– The Upward Bound Program and the Financial Aid Department at the University of South Carolina Upstate, along with partners, will host College Goal South Carolina on Saturday, March 5.  This financial aid workshop will take place in the Health Education Complex from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the USC Upstate campus. The event is free and open to the public.

College Goal South Carolina is designed to provide financial aid information and to assist in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  College Goal South Carolina is a volunteer effort by the South Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, the South Carolina Commission of Higher Education, and the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation in cooperation with the University of South Carolina Upstate.

On Saturday, March 5, the Spartanburg-area VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) will provide on-site tax services to assist with income tax reports. Financial aid experts and other volunteers will help parents and students with financial aid paperwork for any college or university and provide information about financial aid options and eligibility for grants and scholarships.  Participants need to bring a social security number, W-2 forms from the previous year and parent’s most recent federal Income tax returns.
