Watershed Ecology Center Sponsors Going Green on the Preschool Scene

This spring, the Watershed Ecology Center at USC Upstate will offer cross-curricular programming concentrating on water conservation and combining science, children’s literature and art.  Each program is designed to be enjoyed by and educate both parent and child.  All programs are located in children’s section of Spartanburg Barnes and Noble from 10:30 – 11:15 am. Ages: Birth to 5, parent/guardian must remain with child for entire program.

Themes: The life cycle of a frog requires clean, unpolluted water.  Everyone can protect and learn about ecosystems.

Book:  The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle
Theme: The life cycle of a flower and the vital role that clean water plays. 
Craft: Muffin cup/construction paper flowers

Book: Little Cloud by Eric Carle
Theme:  The three states of water: solid, liquid and gas and how water pollution can occur in all three states.
