September 19, 2011 at 4:38 pm

Welcome to the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of South Carolina Upstate! The faculty and staff at USC Upstate are committed to excellence in teaching, which is part of the University’s mission and vision: “USC Upstate will emerge as the metropolitan university of South Carolina …recognized as a center of superb teaching…” USC Upstate is an institution that values student success and in order to maintain that goal, it must support and encourage effective teaching and learning. The Center for Teaching Excellence was therefore established to ensure the necessary linkage between teaching and learning. Each semester, CTE sponsors a series of workshops, panels, and conversations on issues related to teaching and learning. The Center, along with its Partners—Department of Learning Technologies, Distance Education, Student Success Center—fosters, promotes, and enhances excellence in teaching by providing leadership, resources, and opportunities for dialogue and collaboration among faculty. We wish you a successful 2011-2012 academic year!
