Expecting Goodness Short Film Festival, March 23

February 5, 2013 at 3:01 pm

The Expecting Goodness Short Film Festival is a writer’s film festival. Talented South Carolina writers and their stories are connected with emerging and experienced filmmakers across the state of South Carolina to create original short films over a four-month period. Our one-of-a-kind project brings literature and film together in a way that engages the larger community of our state and showcases people and places that make South Carolina a creative hotbed.

As a supporter/lover/organizer of film and film events, we want to make sure you’re aware of the Expecting Goodness project and upcoming Expecting Goodness Short Film Festival on March 23 in Spartanburg. The festival itself will feature South Carolina filmmakers’ short films inspired by South Carolina writers’ award-winning or recently-published short stories (meet the participants here). Ours is a writers’ film festival, the only of its kind.

Tickets are on sale right now (here) for the March 23 festival, and they’re going fast! We’d love to have you join us in our celebration of stories.

And on March 22, the night before the festival, we’ll feature the project writers at a reading and reception at The Showroom in downtown Spartanburg.

We are excited about the future of the Expecting Goodness project in the way it connects writers and filmmakers to each other and to the larger community. Hundreds of people are involved across the state in all stages of the project, so we have the potential to establish a true South Carolina legacy.
