Library Fines Forgiven In Exchange For Helping Feed Others

Did you keep that book out just a little too long?

The USC Upstate Library is running its annual Food for Fines drive through Dec. 2.

How does it work?

Bring in one non-perishable food item to the University Library’s circulation desk to donate during this time and the library will reduce your fines by $1 per item. There is no limit to the amount of fines that will be forgiven.

Please note that replacement fees for lost or damaged items will not be forgiven. Food items that are expired, in glass containers, or damaged containers will not be accepted.

Items will be donated to the University’s SNAC pantry.

Items most needed:

1. Soups (can and microwaveable bowls)

2. Canned Fruits

3. Ready to Eat Items—Chef Boyardee, microwaveable meals, etc.

4. Snack items—chips, granola bars, raisins, etc.

5. Mac and Cheese (individual and box)

6. Canned Meats
