Warren Carson Will Be Panelist for Black History Program in Tryon, Feb. 22

Carson WarrenThe Thermal Belt Friendship Council and Roseland Community Center will sponsor a Black History Program, “Celebrating our Native Sons and Daughters,” at noon Saturday, Feb. 22 at Roseland Community Center.
Dr. Warren Carson, interim senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and chief diversity officer  at USC Upstate, will be a featured panelist as the group discusses issues facing African Americans.

A Tryon native, Carson earned degrees in English from UNC Chapel Hill, Atlanta University and the University of South Carolina. He has been an educator for almost 40 years, 30 of which have been spent at USC Upstate.
