Upstate Makes First Appearance in Colonel Classic

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women’s golf team will play its final tournament prior to the A-Sun Championship in a couple of weeks when it travels to Richmond, Ky., to make its first appearance in the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky at Arlington Golf Club Friday and Saturday.

Upstate is coming off a tie for seventh at the Low Country Intercollegiate March 23-24 and looks to continue to sharpen its performance heading into the A-Sun Tournament April 14-16. Allea Hawkins finished a career-best tied for 14th in the Low Country, while Amanda Hall was tied for 19th to give the Spartans two players in the Top 20. Hawkins and Kinsey Soniat both had their top career finishes in the tournament as well.
