Spartans Head North for Charlotte Invitational

In the final event before the ITA Carolina Regional, the USC Upstate men’s tennis team continues its fall schedule by heading north to take part in the Charlotte Invitational from the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.

Competition for Upstate begins Friday at 3 p.m. when the Spartans and Coastal Carolina matchup for doubles play. Play continues at 4:30 p.m. with singles play between the two schools.

Upstate continues its participation in the event Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with doubles competition against James Madison. The Spartans cap the afternoon with the Dukes at 1:00 p.m. with singles play.

On the final day of play, the Spartans take on host Charlotte in doubles action at 11:30 a.m. before closing the tournament with singles play at 1:00 p.m.


“We’re excited to have the opportunity to have all eight of our players competing in this event,” USC Upstate head coach Oliver Trittenwein said. “We’ve had some injuries in the past that have prevented us from taking everyone, but we’re at full strength for this tournament and we look forward to seeing how well we fare against some quality competition.”
