Lunch & Learn: Slave Clothing in Colonial Times

Spartanburg County Historical Association and Kathleen Staples will present a Lunch & Learn program on the clothes that slaves wore in Colonial times, Friday, Nov. 21, 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Chapman Cultural Center. Clothes in both rural and urban settings will discussed. Staples is the owner of Kathleen Staples & Assoc., LLC, a provider of curatorial and conservation services for historic textiles. She serves on Historic Charleston Foundation’s Member Collections Committee and the Member Advisory Board for the Soft Furnishings Project at the Nathaniel Russell House in Charleston. Lunch & Learns are held in the west wing conference room at Chapman Cultural Center. Catered lunches will be available through Palmetto Palate, reserved in advance through the museum’s gift shop. Tickets and a limited number of lunches will be available at the door. Admission is $5 per ticket; free for SCHA members. For the catered lunch, tickets are $15 each. The lunch includes a sandwich or salad box with  beverage and dessert.
