Science Center, Humane Society Presents ‘Science of Pet Ownership’

Are you thinking about giving or getting a pet for Christmas? Learn the dos and don’ts of responsible pet ownership before adopting a new furry friend this holiday season! Join Spartanburg Science Center as it hosts Spartanburg Humane Society at Chapman Cultural Center for an afternoon of learning the science behind responsible pet ownership Saturday, Nov. 21, 2:30-4 p.m. Animals will be on site along with experts who will help you find the purrrfect pet and answer any questions. This free event is open to the public, and all animal lovers are encouraged to come talk with the Humane Society and explore the Science Center.

The Science Center aims to shed light on what the Humane Society has to offer the community, for not only does Spartanburg Humane Society provide animals for local individuals and families, but it also utilizes strategies to prevent unsuccessful adoptions. Humane Society experts will explain the various aspects to consider when adopting a pet, as well as emphasize the importance of choosing adoption of a homeless pet over purchasing a pet.

Spartanburg Science Center and Spartanburg Humane Society have teamed up in this collaborative effort to raise awareness for the mistreatment of animals and find homes for those that are homeless.Take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to make successful pet adoptions and avoid returning pets back to the Humane Society.
