The USC Upstate softball team had ten players garner NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for their performance in the classroom during the 2016-17 academic year, it was announced this afternoon by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

The ten players who received the recognition are: former Upstate players Ryan Rector, Logan Hill, Abbie Millete and Holly McKinnon, and current members Erin Hill, Ansley Gilstrap, Trish Webb, Tarynn Tirpak, Kaylyn DeVaney and Kori Wancheck.

A record 7,351 softball players across seven membership divisions earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for 2016-17. NCAA Division I, with 1,843 honorees, had the most student-athletes with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher.
