On Saturday afternoon, Chancellor Brendan Kelly and his family worked together to spread a little holiday cheer.

Dr. Kelly, along with his wife Dr. Tressa Kelly and children Bree, Liam and Kieran, donated items to the USC Upstate SNAC Pantry.

After making their donation, the family took a tour of the pantry with Dr. Khrystal Smith, assistant dean of students and director of student life, who explained the pantry’s mission and its importance.

SNAC exists to collect and distribute food and other non-perishable items to USC Upstate students who are in emergency need throughout the year. Any currently enrolled USC Upstate student in emergency need can access the pantry. SNAC is a “no questions asked” pantry and students who are in need or struggling financially are allowed to take the items they need.

There is a SNAC Food Pantry located on both the Spartanburg and Greenville campuses.
