Congratulations to alumnus Travis Jenkins who was named Journalist of the Year, Weekly Division, by the South Carolina Press Association on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

Jenkins is the general manager and editor of The News and Reporter in Chester.  He also was recognized with awards in 21 different categories, in addition to his paper winning for general excellence.

Jenkins is a past recipient of the Weekly First Place Montgomery/Shurr Freedom of Information Awards in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
