USC Upstate softball student-athlete Brittany Case was honored by the ASUN Conference as the league announced its Winners for Life team for the Spring 2018 semester.

The team is comprised of one student-athlete from each institution for the 2017-18 academic year and honors those who display excellence on and off the playing surface.

Case helped guide the Spartans to a 35-19 record last season to earn her third straight ASUN All-Conference recognition, and fourth overall. Holding a 3.742 cumulative grade-point average as a communications major, Case landed on the ASUN All-Academic Team for the first time and collected NFCA Honor Roll selection for the third consecutive year. Serving as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Vice Chair, Case has worked on a number of projects including the Project Life Movement, Angel Tree Donations and the McCarthy Teszler Prom.

The Winners for Life team honors a campus citizen that is respected as one who shares and/or demonstrates the ASUN Core Values: Education, Honesty, Student-Athlete Experience, Fairness, Health, Ambition, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Leadership, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have competed in the current academic year in an ASUN sponsored sport and be in good academic standing at his/her university.
