The Spartanburg County Office of Emergency Management’s Community Emergency Response Team is opening a Cold Weather Shelter at Duncan United Methodist Church (139 W. Main St., Duncan) in the church gymnasium.

With the assistance of Costco, Bojangles (Duncan), Ambustar, Zaxbys (Duncan), Red Cross and others, we are trying to address the needs of our community during this potentially record breaking cold streak.  Should someone need transportation to the cold weather shelter, they are asked to contact our cold weather shelter hotline at 1-800-226-0539 and leave a message.  Anyone who leaves a messages will be contacted back very shortly and their transportation needs will be addressed.

Please note, this is a Pet Friendly shelter, therefore individuals with pets are encouraged to bring their pet(s) with them.  They will be housed in a separate part of the church. If you have food for your pet, please bring it.  However, if you don’t have food for your pet, pet food will be provided.
