Dorian Jones

LakePoint, Ga. – USC Upstate junior Dorian Jones has been named to the 2018 ASUN Men’s Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team, conference officials announced this afternoon. Jones is a History Education major from West Columbia, S.C. with a 3.55 GPA.

Jones was named to his second ASUN All-Academic Team of the 2017-18 school year after earning a spot on the men’s cross country All-Academic Team in the fall.

During the indoor season, Jones set a new school record in the mile as he recorded a time of 4:13.20 at the ASUN Championships while finishing in fourth place. Jones earned Third Team All-Conference honors in the Distance Medley Relay. Earlier in the year, Jones won the mile at the Wake Forest Open with what was then the fourth-fastest mile time in school history at 4:20.83.

USC Upstate opens the outdoor season this weekend as the Spartans travel to Charlotte for the 49er Classic.
