For the second straight season, USC Upstate redshirt junior Felix Ewers has received postseason recognition from the ASUN Conference after being named First Team All-Conference by the league on Thursday evening.

Ewers was a Second Team All-Conference selection last season and is the seventh player in program history to be selected to the First Team. He joins former Spartans Ramon Simonetti (2015, 2016), Matthias Kidler (2013), Ramiro Blanco (2011, 2012), Edgar Rodriguez (2009, 2010), Javier Tori (2010) and Sandy Franz (2008) as the only players to be named First Team All-Conference.

A native of Dortmund, Germany, Ewers played in all 24 singles matches this season with 21 coming at the No. 1 position and three at No. 2. He compiled a 7-14 overall record highlighted by a 6-12 mark at No. 1. Ewers went a team-best 3-3 in conference play recording wins over Stetson, Florida Gulf Coast and Lipscomb. He also added non-conference wins against Presbyterian College, Wofford, Queens and Elon. Four of his seven singles wins came in straight sets.

Ewers tied for first on the team in doubles play with 12 wins including two in conference play. He won 10 of his 12 doubles matches at No. 3 while going 2-0 at No. 2. Ewers teamed with freshman Luka Eble to post an 11-7 record in doubles competition and finished the season with four straight wins while going 8-2 in their final 10 matches.
