Spartanburg, S.C. –  The 2018 National Audubon Society Annual Traveling Photo Exhibition is coming to the University of South Carolina Upstate October 15-26. Hosted by the University Galleries, the exhibit will be on display at the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics in downtown Spartanburg.  A public reception is planned for Thursday, Oct. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. to coincide with the monthly Spartanburg ArtWalk.

The traveling photo exhibit features rare and unusual moments from the avian world and is comprised of winning bird photographs from this year’s Audubon Photography Awards.

Selected from more than 5,500 entries, the winning photos were published in the Summer 2017 issue of Audubon Magazine and show birdlife at its most vivid, vulnerable, formidable, and elegant. Photographers from 49 states and eight Canadian provinces submitted images in three categories: professional, amateur, and youth. A panel of five judges had the daunting task of sifting through the stunning images and grading them based on technical quality, originality, and artistic merit.
