Nursing Students and Faculty to Participate in 13th Annual Community Health Awareness Day

Community health RN students and some faculty from USC Upstate’s Mary Black School of Nursing will participate in the 13th Annual Community Health Awareness Day at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church on Saturday, June 5, 2010. The community is invited to attend the event which begins at 8:00 a.m. for a Health Walk (warm up at 7:45 a.m.) at 445 South Church Street in Spartanburg. All ages are welcome to join in a day of education, information, health screenings, food, entertainment and door prizes. If you plan to have a health screening, do not eat or drink after midnight except water. Screenings will include: cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose, dental screening (children only), and spinal screening. Physicians, nurse practicioners and chiroprators will be on site. Other activities include bounce house, slides, trackless train, snow cones, cotton candy, clowns, senior bingo, door prizes, bicycle give-away.
