Training Opportunity for Accounting Practitioners Nov. 15 at Upstate

A CPE training seminar for Accounting Practitioners will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the University of South Carolina Upstate’s George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics.

The training, “Accounting and Auditing Update and Review,” qualifies participants to receive five CPE hours of group-live accounting and three hours of group-live auditing.

Seminar topics will include:

  • Proposed SSARS for Review of Financial Statements
  • SAS No 126: The Auditor’s Consideration of an Entity’s Ability to Continue as a Going Concern
  • AICPA Financial Reporting Framework for Small and Medium-Sized Entities
  • Ethics and Independence Rules and FASB Private Company Decision-Making Framework

The course will be taught by Stuart Shough MA/CPA. Stuart, who lives in Newberry, was senior instructor at the University of South Carolina Upstate. He has more than 25 years of experience teaching accounting courses and conducting CPE seminars nationally. His evaluations have consistently been more than 96 percentile.

The cost to attend is $159 per participant prior to the event. $149 “buddy special” with two or more registrations. Register on site from 8-8:30 a.m. for $179. Breakfast, lunch and course materials are included in the price.
