USC Upstate Offers 13 Foreign Languages in Evening Classes

The University of South Carolina Upstate’s World Languages Institute will offer instruction in 13 foreign languages this spring in non-credit, evening courses. Classes start the week of February 22 and run through the week of April 4, meeting once per week on the USC Upstate campus. Classes will not meet March 7 – 11. No foreign language experience is required to register.

Classes are:

  • Beginning Chinese – Level 1 (Tuesdays 4 – 5 p.m.)
  • Beginning Chinese – Level 2 (Tuesdays 5 – 6 p.m.)
  • Beginning French Conversation (Tuesdays 6 – 7 p.m.)
  • Beginning Hebrew (Biblical) – Level 1 (Mondays 4 – 5 p.m.)
  • Beginning Hebrew (Biblical) – Level 2 (Mondays 5 – 6 p.m.)
  • Beginning Portuguese (Mondays 5 – 6 p.m.)
  • Beginning Spanish Conversation (Wednesdays 5 – 6 p.m.)
  • Beginning Turkish (Thursdays 6 – 7 p.m.)
  • Introductory German – Level 1 (Wednesdays 6 – 7 p.m.)
  • Introduction to Irish Gaelic (Wednesdays 6 – 7 p.m.)
  • Introductory Italian (Tuesdays 5 – 6 p.m.)
  • Introductory Japanese (Thursdays 5 – 6 p.m.)
  • Introductory Latin – Level 1 (Mondays 6 – 7 p.m.)
  • Introductory Latin – Level 2 (Mondays 7 – 8 p.m.)
  • Introduction to Ukrainian (Tuesdays 6 – 7 p.m.)
  • Russian Culture: History, Cuisine & Dress (Wednesdays 4 – 5 p.m.)
